OMG a Recipe: Happy Hour at Home and Bringing WineSpritzersBack

*Cue JT, boogieing across the screen, doing some kind of The Robot-type dance move* "I'm bringin' WineSpritzersBack... Them other drinks just don't know how to act..." Okay, so maybe Justin Timberlake didn't show up to my sunny patio happy hour, but let's be honest, with this great weather and perfect setting, HE TOTALLY WOULD HAVE. With summertime practically here (Hello, Memorial Day weekend!), it's not wrong to start enjoying the great outdoors, even if it's as simple as having cocktails and snacks in your very own backyard.

OMG a Recipe: This Drink Will Go Straight to Your Rosehips

"So, I was browsing the Armenian market, and came across a whole bag of rosehips for $2...." said no one, EVAR. Well, except me. At the risk of sounding like a painfully insufferable hipster, I really was browsing a little Armenian deli/market in Bellevue -- Old Country Bakery, if you want to check it out -- and whenever I'm in a unique grocer, I make it a point to pick up at least one thing that I have no idea what to do with, but has enough familiarity that I can experiment with. So yes, I got a big ol' bag of whole, dried rosehips, for like, two bucks! What to do with them? No idea. That's why there's a blog.

OMG a Spoooooooooky Recipe: Bloody Good Blood Orange Cocktail for All Hallow's Eve

Per usual, my Halloween preparation relies on The Addams Family movies. Someone asks Wednesday Addams, wearing her everyday Little Girl Goth ensemble on Halloween, who she's supposed to be. Actress Christina Ricci's perfect deadpan voice replies: "I'm a serial killer. They look like everyone else." Genius. Short of vandalizing a perfectly good bed sheet and going as a ghost, I'm sorely unprepared for Halloween beyond snacking on way too much candy weeks before October 31st. But fear not. I did make a drink.  And it's spooooooooky!

FoodTrek: Gathering of Flavors at Kaisho

The term kaisho is a Japanese term for a place to meet or gather, but having a chance to further explore the menu at the Bellevue restaurant Kaisho, I would also call it a gathering of various Asian and Western flavors, and having them all meet for a delectable feast. I was doing the very arduous (not arduous) task of food/drink research and had the opportunity to sample several of Kaisho's dishes and cocktails. It was too much flava-flavor to keep all to myself, so I had to share on the blog. So here -- feast with your eyes, then  jump in your car and feast with your appetite!
